In this article, we will explain how to automate the synchronisation of your photos and videos on your iOS devices.
Please note that the images in this article are from iPhone, but the settings in NextCloud are exactly the same on iPad.
First, as you can see in the image below, select “More” from the bottom of your NextCloud app.
Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and select “Settings“.
From the settings, go to “Auto Upload“.
On this page, click on the first toggle to enable auto-upload. Then select the folder in your cloud that you want to sync your photos and videos to.
Done! Your photos are now automatically synchronised with your cloud.
The other options on this page are self-explanatory. However, be careful with the “Upload entire camera roll” option. If you have already set an auto-sync in your app, enabling this option may result in duplicate photos being uploaded to your NextCloud.
We recommend that you open your NextCloud app from time to time to make sure that the snyc feature is working correctly. To do this, when you open your NextCloud app, tap ‘More’ at the bottom and go to transfers. Also, check the folder in your cloud that you have chosen to sync your photos with. It never hurts to be safe 😉
